I wanted to reimagine you | 30 April 2007

I wanted to reimagine you in a field
without bluebonnets, without the deep
color, the wonderland, if you
make believe my body
is a narrow hallway,
would you crawl
through me as if I was on fire?
Lift the time off the wall and
we want it to matter, the
music. If your long hair
melted into my eyes in the act
of making love, might you become
me? Where are the days? When
nothing else matters but your
cowboy boots along the wood floor,
I might think that the trees
could only umbrella me.
